Okandogs Adoption Guide
Welcome to Okandogs! We’re excited that you’re ready to add a new member to your family and are considering adopting from us. Our goal is to create happy, lasting relationships between our dogs and their families. Please review the following information prior to submitting an adoption application.
Adoption Process
Apply First
Complete an adoption application online. This does not guarantee or commit you to an adoption; it starts the conversation about suitability. We will do our best to get back to you, but if the dog is no longer posted, they may have already been adopted.
Requirements
A fully fenced yard is required unless a clear, reasonable plan is provided. Puppies not yet spayed or neutered will be adopted out under contract and must be altered by the date specified. We’ll follow up to ensure vet services are completed.

Meet and Greet
If your application is a good match, we’ll contact your references and schedule a meet and greet with the dog at our rescue in Cashmere. All household members, including dogs, must attend. Our goal is to assure a good fit with your family.
Taking Your Dog Home
After a successful meet and greet, your new family member can go home with you the same day, assuming that reference checks have been completed. With your permission, we’ll photograph the happy event and post it on our social media!
Adoption Fees
What's Included
Please note: Adoption fees are subject to change at any time and are not guaranteed. All adoption fees (except for puppies under 6 months) include:
Spay/neuter surgery
Vaccinations
Microchip
Deworming
Canadian Residents: Unaltered dogs cannot be adopted to Canadian residents due to spay/neuter enforcement challenges.
Puppies (Under 6 Months)
$250
Puppies under 6 months of age may not be spayed/neutered before adoption. In these cases, a spay/neuter contract is required, along with a $250 deposit check. Once proof of the procedure is received, your deposit will be either destroyed, refunded or donated (your choice).
We support delay of spay/neuter to allow for proper growth and development, but sterilization must be completed by 6 months of age. This is a binding part of the adoption agreement.
Senior Puppies
(6 Months to 1 Year)
$375
Adult Dogs
(1 to 8 Years)
$300
Senior Dogs
(8+ Years)
$225
